embodied traces: the feminine corporeal, second iteration
The Good Room 6 – 19 October 2017
This exhibition explores perspectives on bodily experience and societal expectation, through an ephemeral installation work. Selected from an ongoing series of work this installation attempts to reveal the politicized reality of inhabiting a gendered body, and in particular the multi-faceted political ways that gender impacts upon personal experiences. In this way the work investigates the space between exterior and interior realities of the bodily space, questioning and revealing alternative perspectives.
This exhibition is part of an ongoing Honours creative research project, which is exploring the experience of female subjectivity and inherent politics of this position through working with installation, performance and video.
